The Cube is a world-class destination standing tall across the Birmingham City skyline. The 25-storey structure houses a mixture of office, retail and restaurant spaces, apartments, a boutique hotel, exclusive canal side restaurants, skyline champagne bar, spa facilities and the UK’s largest automated car park.

CG Reynolds Ltd were awarded the contract by Buildability for the installation and delivery of the internal partitions and dry lining on this iconic building project in Birmingham. The 25 storey mixed-use development was the final piece on the Birmingham Mailbox. CG Reynolds Ltd works were spread across four basement levels, four retail and commercial levels, two office levels and nine levels of high end residential apartments.

We undertook the complete partitions and ceilings fit out of the 245 apartments with communal spaces, including feature metal pan ceilings, light boxes, internal boxes and internal glazed screens.

The office areas, Levels 12 and 14, consisted of open plan areas with feature perimeter bulkheads and 4000m2 of SAS metal ceilings. The remaining areas included all back of house, circulations and core areas comprising the screed package, soffit insulation to the basement car park and Burgess clip in ceilings to the external spaces.

The works were managed with a strong CG Reynolds Ltd construction delivery team, consisting of project managers and four section sub managers. This allowed us to have a proactive role in the design development of the project, constantly striving for a quality high end product which was successfully delivered on time, despite the extremely demanding program.
